Health and Wellness
Our goal at The Scotland House is to assist adults who are 60 years of age and older who have physical and/or cognitive impairments by helping them remain as active in their community as long as possible. We also have a specialized program for adults with early onset dementia under the age of 60. We seek to maximize their health and independence, as well as to ensure their optimal functioning. We provide a safe, supportive environment where participants can receive a range of profession health, social and therapeutic services. The Scotland House, Adult Day Care and Wellness provides on-site skilled staff that provide health oversight that meets the needs of our participants, such as:

Life Enrichment Program
At the Scotland House your voice, personal interest, and choices are an integral part of your care. Life Enrichment Programs are tailored to what our participants are interested in and are adapted to meet individual needs.
Our staff strive to find ways to support someone’s sense of purpose with meaningful opportunities that enhance dignity, personal gifts, and independent strengths.

The Scotland House program understands that not every person wants to participate or enjoys group activities. Individual choices will be respected and there will be different activities available to keep people engaged, that will not interfere with their decision to spend time independently.

Nutrition
A daily lunchtime meal is provided for each participant, along with snacks and beverages throughout the day. Lunch will be provided by The Thompson Center in Woodstock, VT. Dietary restrictions and sensitivities, allergies, and preferences will always be adhered to. The Scotland House does have a small service kitchen where we will be preparing snacks, special meal requests, and other smaller items. The Scotland House also prepares other delicious foods for our Life Enrichment Program.
Caregiver Support
Our program also provides respite, support, and education to family members, caregivers, and legal representatives.
Transportation
The Scotland House does not currently provide transportation, families must obtain transportation for the participant.
